Cats make playoffs in second year of new ownership!
New Rochelle, NY - (Sunday, July 18th, 2010) - Angela DeSumma scored on two set-pieces to put the Wildcats up 2-1 at the end of the first half. Jessica Fuccello scored a goal by challenging the keeper for the ball, winning it, and putting it into the back of the net to make it 3-1. Amy Hoyer went all out for a 50/50 ball with a Magic defender on a cross and one timed a beautiful goal into the back of the net to make it 4-1. The Magic than dug deep and pushed their way back into the match by scoring two goals to make it 4-3 with 10 minutes to go in the game. [+]

Holmdel, N.J. (Thursday, July 8, 2010) - The NJ Wildcats playing their second game of back to back matches found the back of the net twice to down the North Jersey Valkyries 2-1 in last nights hard fought match. Coming off a 1-0 loss handed to the Cats by Hudson Valley Quickstrike, the # 1 team in the nation, on Wednesday night, the team started a bit slow. However, at the 30 minute mark Beth Troutman sent a well flighted ball to Jess Fuccello who was making a diagonal run and was able to play the ball by the onrushing goalkeeper of the Valkyries to open the scoring. WILDCATS RALLEY WITH THREE SECOND HALF GOALS TO DOWN RANGERS!
The NJ Wildcats started the match vs the NJ Rangers strong and had many shots but were not able to find the back of the net in the first half. Ally Mancino the Wildcats goalkeeper made two first half saves on two counter attacks by the Rangers to keep the score zero zero at halftime. In the second half a fast break ended with the ball on Kylee Rossi’s foot out wide left and she beat one defender and served a ball into the box which hit a Ranger defender as she was running back toward her net and went in to open the scoring. Ewing, N.J. (Sunday, June 27, 2010) – The humid conditions at the College of New Jersey today made fitness a key component to success on the pitch, and the New Jersey Wildcats (4-1-1, 13 points) proved to have reserve energy in defeating the New York Magic (1-7-3, 3 points) by a count of 2-1. Both of the Wildcat goals came off the foot of midfielder Angela DeSumma, a young rising star who will be entering her junior year at Marshall University this fall. [+]

(Thursday, June 24, 2010) – The New Jersey Wildcats (3-1-1, 11 points) put forth an impressive performance tonight at the College of New Jersey, maintaining the lion’s share of possession en route to a 2-1 victory over the New Jersey Rangers (4-4-0, 15 points). The visiting Rangers did strike first in this match with a 5th minute goal, but the Wildcats fought back with a pair of second half tallies to take the critical three points in the Northeast Division Standings. Former NJ Wildcats Rick Stainton and Robyn Jones reunite in WPS
Piscataway, N.J. (Saturday, June 19, 2010) - Former Wildcats goalkeeper coach Rick Stainton reunites with Robyn Jones of the Philadelphia Independence of Women’s Professional Soccer. Rick is currently goalkeeper coach for Sky Blue FC of WPS. The two pro teams met Saturday night. Robyn was a member of the 2007, 2008, and 2009 NJ Wildcats.

Kaitlin Campbell earns W-League team of the week honors!
W-League Team of the Week
United Soccer Leagues announced the W-League Team of the Week today, with Ashley Bares of the Chicago Red Eleven named Player of the Week. The forward found the back of the net twice against Kalamazoo, including the match’s game winner, in a dominating performance by the Red Eleven.

Highly Contested Match Provides Entertaining Night of Soccer
Ewing, N.J. (Thursday, June 17, 2010) – Fans at the College of New Jersey were treated to a very entertaining game of women’s soccer tonight, with a tight battle occurring between two of the top teams in the Northeast Division of the USL W-League’s Eastern Conference. Once the final whistle blew to record 90 minutes of play into the books, the first place Hudson Valley Quickstrikeg Lady Blues (5-0-0, 15 points) remained atop the division charts by defeating the hometown New Jersey Wildcats (2-1-1, 7 points), 2-0. Wildcats continue offensive surge with 4-0 win against North Jersey Valkyries
The New Jersey Wildcats defeated the North Jersey Valkyries last evening with an impressive offensive performance. Rachel Breton opened the scoring in the 10th minute of the match with a gorgeous play on the right side of the pitch blowing by Valkyries defender and tucking the ball underneath the oncoming keeper. Kylee Rossi built on the Wildcats lead by hustling to a loose ball and putting in a tough angle shot to beat the Valkyries keeper in the 30th minute of the match. [+]
JESS FUCCELLO named to the W-League team of the week!
Jess Fuccello was named to the W-League team of the week. She scored a goal and had an assist in NJ Wildcats 2-0 win against Long Island Rough Riders this Sunday. She also scored a goal in Wildcats home opener against Washington Freedom. Jess has looked like one of the strongest forwards in the league thus far.
