WILDCATS ADD SETON HALL STANDOUT!
Beth Troutman will add to stellar back line!

Long Branch, N.J. (Thursday, Septmeber 8, 2011) - The New Jersey Wildcats announced today a key acquisition for the upcoming season of play. Seton Hall product Beth Troutman will join the Wildcats when the W-League team heads to training camp this spring.

A key signing by the Wildcats is that of former Pirate defender Beth Troutman who co-captained Seton Hall during her senior season in 2007. Known for her field vision and hustle, the Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, native is playing her fourth season with the Wildcats this summer.

“Beth is a great defender, she loves to get forward and gives 110% effort each and every time she steps on the field,” Wildcats head coach Kevin McDermott stated. “She is just the type of player I am looking for, my goal is for the team to play every minute of every game with a passion and commitment to win. Commitment to win comes from training hard and playing hard and Beth sets that tone."

The New Jersey Wildcats played their debut season in the W-League in 1996 and has competed every season since. Under the guidance of head coach Charlie Naimo, the Wildcats compiled a 41-1 regular season record from 2004-06, winning regular season titles in 2004 and 2006 while taking the W-League championship in 2005. Following the 2005 season, the Wildcats were named the USL Franchise of the Year. Now under McDermott’s guidance 2010 & 2011 the team has compiled a 14-7-4 (.785 win%) and has made the Eastern Conference playoffs in both years.

The USL W-League played its inaugural season in 1995, and it is recognized as the premiere development league for female players in North America. The schedule is set to open next May and commence in August.
