Fuccello and Rossi each hit the back of the net to put the Wildcats one step closer to a playoff berth!

Holmdel, N.J. (Thursday, July 8, 2010) - The NJ Wildcats playing their second game of back to back matches found the back of the net twice to down the North Jersey Valkyries 2-1 in last nights hard fought match.  Coming off a 1-0 loss handed to the Cats by Hudson Valley Quickstrike, the # 1 team in the nation, on Wednesday night, the team started a bit slow.  However, at the 30 minute mark Beth Troutman sent a well flighted ball to Jess Fuccello who was making a diagonal run and was able to play the ball by the onrushing goalkeeper of the Valkyries to open the scoring.  At the 75 min mark Kylee Rossi found a ball from Jess Fuccello redirected to her within a scramble in the six yard box and put it home to make the game 2-0.  In the 89th minute the Valkyries scored off a corner kick to make things interesting but the home team was able to close out the match and come away with three points.  The Wildcats are in playoff contention with three matches to go.  Stay tuned for updates on our web site as the season continues to unfold!
