The New Jersey Wildcats, one of the most recognized women’s team in the country, is expanding to the youth level. This new development program is led by Ron Celestin and the senior Wildcats staff.
Celestin has played a significant role in Mercer County soccer since his debut at Princeton High School in 1976. He went on to coach the boy’s soccer team at Princeton High to a State Championship in 1995.
He currently is the assistant coach for the women’s soccer program at Princeton University and has worked alongside head coach, Julie Shackford since 1995. He has guided numerous club teams to State Cup titles, and most notably, he coached the 1992-93 Hibernian Hotshots to the National Championship in Phoenix, Arizona.
The Wildcats’ new youth program aims to prepare players for the highest level of competition by improving individual skills and providing opportunities to be exposed to college coaches. The Wildcats staff offers excellent training and guidance that will be valuable for years to come.
The Wildcats are currently fielding a U23 team that is undefeated and in hot pursuit of the U23 National Championship. The U16 & U17 teams are just the beginning as we expand and eventually offer a team in every age group.
